| Hey how's it goin. these past two weeks have been real bad with the Z. i'll try and make this short. - Injector #6 was out so it needed to be replaced. - Didn't want to pull the whole plenum so i tried to dremel. that didn't go too well because i dremeled a 3mm hole into the plenum. did NOT start the car after this happened. - Had the car towed to a friend's. - Picked up a used plenum along with a new manifold gasket. - Swapped plenums (pain in the A). - Car started up after 3 turns and ran beautifully. like brand new and motor didn't even shake. - Drove it around and all 6 cylinders were firing. So, after all of this i thought the mission was a success. instead, it turned out to be the worst days of owing this car. The next morning i started the car and it was only running on 5 cylinders. maybe 4. but i knew it was probably just my injector connectors because they're real old and they usually take a few minutes to read after disconnecting and reconnecting them. My friend and i were on our way to a 3 hour drive to trade my twin turbo for a different car. and the car was driving horrible. just all misfiring. so a few miles into our trip, the car started to bog and die, (this has never happened to me in the z). My Z was always a reliable DD for me but after this plenum pull, things have changed. sooo...(i know i said this would be short, sorry) we pull off to the side of the highway and i smell a bit of gas, but no visual signs. we tried cranking about 10 times, push starting...nothing. a couple of times it'd start but die soon after. we call a tow truck to bring it to a local shop. they throw some ideas out saying it could possibly be the fuel pump. they found the fuel pump, disconnected it, reconnected it, and the car started! along with misfire from cylinder #1 and #3. they said the reason why it died could be the spark plugs?... so they pull them out and see that they're flooded and they said, "there's your problem". but i'm guessing the reason they're flooded was probably because we started starting it so many times... short summary: the car died after a plenum pull, brought it to a shop who thought it was the fuel pump. disconnected and reconnected and the car started, but still runs like crap and has a rough idle. and before people post, i know the dremel mod was a bad idea. THANKS
